I was wondering, based on the information I have provided, what are the chances I have of getting into Boston university and/or Northeastern University. Thanks alot. I'm really interested in these schools.

hmm i guess i really do have a chance! now since some of you say i should aim higher, what kinds of schools can you suggest? and if boston college is one of your choices, dont say it. cuz, i dont like them at all =/

Just to make sure you're 100% clear - YOU ARE IN AT BOTH. :) I got into both and my stats were very very similar and I only took one SAT II.

Other schools - that depends. I can suggest schools for which you are academically suitable, but I won't know if they offer your major. So what're your plans?

uhh thanks for the concern srk2009! i plan to major something in the business field. i particularly like the IT department. Looks awesome lol. I love fixing up computers if i can lol. forgive my digression :P finance and stuff like that would be something i'd be interested in too

oh and since you made it into both, did you end up going to any of those? and if you did, did you like them?

Nope :( I couldn't afford either, even with scholarships and loans. My parents at that time wouldn't co-sign with me and I had no credit so I was kind of up a creek without a paddle! Now I'm re-applying - to different schools. lol.

Okay so, other good schools...

Matches:
New York University
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Cogswell Polytech
Syracuse University
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Bucknell University

Reaches:
Yeshiva University
University of Virginia
Connecticut College (*this one's a low reach/high match)

Safeties:
Clarkson College
Your Local State College :)

Have fun college-searching... That's the most fun part. :)

oh nooo!! thats horrible :( i think sometimes schools should be more lenient to applicants to make the cut! cost should never be an issue. anywho. thanks for all your help, although i think NYU is a bit too high! lol

oh. how very perceptive raider! lol You're right, I have taken a strong liking to the Boston Area! The only thing is that I want to go to a school that has some decent spirit and I think Boston University particularly has that. My EC's are rather weak but I don't think i want to go to a school that is super selective. I think its more interesting to meet people that aren't super nerdy! I don't mean to offend anyone though

Yeah, Boston is the best city in the world, hands-down. :D Okay, I'm biased, I'm from the area. But still, there ARE 300,000 college students in Boston so it's a pretty cool area.

Alectricity, I can't tell if you're male or female, lol, but if you ARE a girl look into Simmons College. It's in Boston, actually a few blocks from Fenway Park, and has a FANTASTIC atmosphere. It is pretty selective and I know about 10-15 girls who go there; they're all very intelligent, have strong consciences and beliefs, and have a LOT of school spirit. Plus there's so many other schools around that, for dating purposes, it doesn't matter that it's an all-women school.

I'm not from boston and i agree, its one of the greatest places to be educated!

its surrounded with the best universities and colleges in all subjects such as berklee for music, bentley for business, Tufts, BU, Harvard, NUE, Brandeis really don't need explaining, olin for engineering and MIT at that .... EVEN THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE BUNKER HILL holds some amount of prestige! etc. etc

when i visited boston, an interesting magazine i read called it the Athens of america....

and theres no offense taken, why should one press upon you for wanting a real college experience? college isn't suppose to be about surrounding yourself with "nerds" more so than it is diversity and i do not only mean sexually, culturally and socially, but with completely different acquiring and passionate minds as well... thats were the real learning is done!

dang raider lol. I swear if you and I knew each other, we would have been good friends haha. I completely agree! I think its not all about academics. I think being socially smart is also something that is quite undervalued. but yeah, boston was well to put it ... awesome! :]

oh and skr2009, im a guy. so Simmons is out of the Question!

haha, we might just be one day... I'm applying to BU as well... wasn't really feeling NEU, the info session was so boring and i didn't really like the campus! I could go on about what i don't like about Northeastern, but i don't want to discourage your decision or **** you off lol... well either way i hope you get into the colleges...

Happy Beanpoting

haha i hope you understand the reference...

with those statistics and stuff, what do you think are the chances i have for the following schools:
UC Riverside
UC Irvine
UC Santa Cruz
Santa Clara U.
UC Berkeley
Cal Poly Pomona

I know this is really suppose to be about Boston U or Northeastern but I'd figure I'd save a thread so thanks for all your help!
