Chances at Boston University

Okay so Boston University is my absolute DREAM school. I applied as a freshman early decision got deferred, waitlisted and later rejected. My unweighted high school GPA is an 89 and weighted GPA is an 100.

I attended a very small catholic school my freshman year due to finances and finished with a 3.67 GPA there, I applied to BU as a transfer and got rejected for the 2014-2015 academic year. I'm transferring to the public school in my state that has a very good reputation and great academics so I'm okay with finishing and graduating from this university if I have to.

My question is, what do you think my chances of getting into BU if I apply to transfer again as a junior? Since I got rejected twice I figure my changes are really really low but if I keep my GPA up this year and finish with a 4.0 do you think it'd be possible? Originally I was going to be an English major but I just recently switched to Molecular and Cell Biology and am planning on med school after undergrad so the option to go to Boston University for med school is almost impossible for me because the acceptance rate is soooo low for BU's med school (and same goes for med schools everywhere).

Since med school is near impossible at BU should I apply again as a transfer for the 2015-2016 academic year?

In all honesty I know its difficult transferring in as a junior because a lot of credits won't go through but I wouldn't mind spending another year at BU and graduating in 2018 instead I just love the school so much and would do anything to ge in.

It may be a bit impractical to transfer junior year as a lot of your credits won’t transfer & you’ll spend lots of time & waste extra money taking those credits. That said, if you can’t stomach not going to BU at all, if you personally believe that you must go to BU, I can’t see you applying for a transfer hurting. However you should talk to an admissions officer at BU and discuss why you didn’t get in in the past years, it could help.

Best of luck. If this is your dream, chase it.
