Again, I am willing to take the SAT again or take the ACT (I doubt I'll improve that much on CR, so it'd probably be better to take the ACT).

I think you need some more schools! Brown/ Amherst are about 40% shots and you are in at the others, most likely with merit money at BU. A boost on the SAT/ ACT would really help you.

I hope you are applying to more places!! You are in the range where the top ten (Brown, Amherst, Williams, Dartmouth, Duke, etc) are 50-50 so apply to more than two of these. Check out Vassar as another match.

I disagree, Brown early will be very hard to get into, definitely not 40% like slipper suggested. Also, being a white jewish male from a private school is a hindrance. I would give you a 10% chance at Brown, especially because your SATs and ECs are below average. Chess club won't cut it. I've seen many people get turned away from Brown this year, and even though you are no doubt a good student, I would suggest that you find plenty of safeties that you like.

Whoops, I misread he SAT score. I agree, I'd say Brown is 20-25% chance tops, along with Amherst. Wesleyan is a strong reach for you. And once again, you must considr Vassar if you like both Brown and Wesleyan. I have spent over a week at each of these schools and Vassar is just like them.

i have a question. While Vassar is similar to Wesleyan and brown (both of which i like), for males, wouldn't they feel out of place with such a large female population.
