Chances at Brown-FUNNY JOKE WITHIN!

I am interested in Brown, but im not sure about my stats:

Leaning toward liberal arts for major

As an extra bonus for anyone taking time to offer their advice, here’s a little joke:

“I have terrible news, Mr. Thoreson. You have cancer and you have Alzheimer’s.”
“Well, Doctor, at least I don’t have cancer.”

One suggestion that might help you get in:

Don't tell that joke at the interview.

haha I first thought we had to find the joke.. so I thought it was your ACT score.. I know nothing about ACT btw.. and I thought the highest you could get was 32.. so I thought the joke was that you got 33.. wow this was quite a meaningless post..

I like the joke. But then again I'm an easy laugh.

what seperates you from the crowd? besides your bad sense of humor....

I'd say your chances are just okay. A lot of people have those stats. Write a good essay and get good/unique recs and you will improve your chances significantly

I enjoyed the joke.

Your chances sound pretty good... good luck!

I'll refrain from commenting on the joke because I expect much better from fellow publication editors.

Your stats seem pretty good though. Perhaps you should change your interests since "liberal arts major" is way too vague and Brown, along with many other top schools, looks for pepole who have a little direction.

at least he posted a different joke then on the other boards, it'd get boring if he had the same joke on all of his chances posts

isnet -- not always true. They accept many undecided people. There is a difference between someone who doesn't know what they want to DO and someone who doesn't know what they want to LEARN. I think Brown looks for the latter. So a broad interest in the liberal arts? Perfect!

lighten up, isnet

...........bump

that joke was ill. GET IT??

........bump

bump.................

seems pretty good, but do you have any non-academic extracurriculars? that might be a weakness in your application...
