thx.

I'd say you could stand a decent chance because your scores are very good, nice ECs, and you have medical/research experience (not sure which ones because it wasn't very specific). I don't know whether they'd count you as URM because you're half hispanic, but if they did that would help most definitely. Your essays should be a lot better than "nothing awesome", because I've heard that Brown places the most weight on essays.

hmm.

well, my "why BROWN/PLME?" essay was different, to say the least

ok, i've looked into PLME and i am absolutely in love with the idea of spending my next 8 yrs at Brown.

I wanna study watever i want and have no stress but a minimal gpa/MCAT requirement.

wait, so PLME students can still apply to other med schools if they want, right? and Brown Med school will be a backup, rite?

also, any further comments on my chances? do we really need mid 1500's SAT to be competitive?

btw, the club that i founded has to do with medicine~ yay!(n i founded it in freshman year)

im pretty sure brown's plme is binding for 8 years, so if you get in, you have to stay there all 8 years

and who wouldn't? :D

It's not binding, and you can apply out to other med schools or drop of out the program. Personally, however, I think that it is sleezy to apply to PLME just to use Brown as a back up medical school. The program is very unique and special, and has a lot of genuine goals for its students, and you should be fully committed to those goals and to the institution if you plan to be a PLME student. Otherwise you're taking someone's spot who genuinely wants to be a real PLME student dedicated to Brown and Brown Med. Of course some people's plans change once they get into college and med school, and if changes need to be made then, I think that's fine, but I would not recommend applying to PLME if you intend from the get-go to apply out.
