Chances at Brown, Tufts, Princeton, Eugene Lang, Vassar

Since the beginning of high school, I've tried not to buy into the whole obsession with college admissions; I don't want to do things just because they look good on a resume. Lately I'm freaking out a bit more about the whole admissions process, and I can't figure out where my qualifications place me. Anyway, a trillion thanks for any advice!

-I'm a white, female junior in a Maryland public high school

-Unweighted GPA: 3.74

-Weighted GPA: 4.38
(This year, my GPA is 4.0, and my WGPA is 5.0. I had a rough sophomore year, and I started taking ADD medication this year. Does that make a difference on an app?)

-APs:
+Sophomore year -- NSL
+Junior year -- English Language, AB Calculus, 2-D Design, Psychology
+Next year -- English Language, Chem, Comparative Government, Music Theory (I'll also be taking Multivariable Calc, but that's not technically an AP)
+I got a 4 on my AP NSL exam

-I'm not sure of my class rank, but I'm in a large class at a prestigious public school.

-SAT: I'm taking the SAT in June, and I think this will be a strong point -- I'm taking SAT classes, and my PSAT score was 221 (80CR, 64 Math, 77 Writing). I'll also be taking the ACT and am aiming for a 34-35.

-ECs:
+Varsity Cross Country freshman and sophomore year, varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track freshman year. I know it looks really bad that I quit, but I've dealt with bad injuries due to scoliosis.
+Nine years of flute lessons/participation in 3 County Solo Festivals and 1 State Solo Festival
+Campaigning for Obama [okay, so this process is making me feel extremely stupid for being so irresponsible in past years -- I never filled out the forms for hours.]
+Art -- though I don't want to go to art school (which deeply shocks/upsets my art teacher and various friends), art is a passion and I take it at the AP level.
+Art Honor Society
+English Honor Society (I’m running for President next year)
+Tri-M Music Honor Society
+I ran for class Vice President in sophomore year
+I’m co-founding the Growing Connection club at my school – it’s a branch of the UN that works to build energy-efficient “garden boxes” to help people in need.
+I’ll be doing a community service program in Mexico for about a month this coming summer

-Employment: I work for Peer2Peer Tutors, a company in my area that hires high school students to tutor younger/same age kids. I make $15/hour, all of which has gone into my bank account for college spending. I'm starting a job at Birkenstock (the walking shoe store) for over the summer, and those earnings will go into the bank account as well.

-Honors/awards:
+I’m my school’s nominee for the Maryland Art Scholar Award – if I win, I’ll receive a full scholarship to any school in Maryland. Not that I want to go to a MD school…
+I’m in the running for the National Merit Scholarship
+Ratings of 1 at County and State Solo Festival (Flute)

-Recommendations: My recs will probably be really good; I get along really well with my teachers and generally get very good reception from them.
-Essays: Writing is my strongest suit in school, and I’m confident that my essays will be equally strong.

-->Miscellaneous: I'm curious as to how much my art/music achievements will matter, since I’m not pursuing either professionally. I’m deeply interested in politics, language, and film.

go for 2nd tier schools…ones that are good but not quite ivy league. Ex: Boston college, tufts, notre dame, georgetown…etc…and of course apply to some back ups ya know

it’s all good, thanks for the honesty! what about lang, though? isn’t that less prestigious than vassar?
