Chances at brown

And furthermore DC_andrew, I don´t know where you stand in the nation in whatever you do for track&field, but at least libertyzain2007´s won 64th in the nation in some debate event.

And oh DC_andrew, you´re also not the only person that´s gone through the process and gotten admitted this year. You´ve also got over 1000 new classmates at Brown, ¨whos gone through the process and been admitted¨ :)

Bruins, I'm not saying writing scores don't matter, but I have haerd directly from a Brown adcom tht they have less weight. It would, for instance, be easier to overlook a low writing score than a low verbal score.

Yikes...didnt mean to offend anyone with my statement, just throwing in my two cents. I never mentioned anything about the orig posters passions...all I was saying is that I didnt think the debate thing was a STRONG hook...just my opinion, its fine if you dont agree with me. Ive seen a lot of people get in and a lot of people get rejected, so I feel I have a decent idea of what kind of things get people in and what dont. But again, if you dont agree, by all means say so, but theres no need to make such a big stink about it.

As for my track & field accolades...I won an individual state title this year and have been ranked as high as 12th nationally over the course of the indoor/outdoor season. My mark would have placed me 5th at the 2006 Ivy League championships.

Well, congrats on all your accolades. That´s wonderful.

And no i am not making a big stink about anything. i just believe if someone writes down their beliefs on another thread, then they should follow up on them instead of posting hypocritical messages on other threads.

But of course you´re welcome to disagree with me. After all, we will all be attending an extremely liberal school. :)

I know all about debate, and qualifying for nationals, while it is difficult in the more competitive NFL districts, is not impressive enough to guarantee anything. It will help, of course, but not that much.
