<p>I applied to 7 schools, but my number one is definately Brown.
Me in a nutshell:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.97 [unweighted, 4.3 scale, 4.0 = A average]
Class Rank: Top 10% [we only do deciles]
Awards:
Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award, U. Rochester Book Award
RIT Computing Medal, Rochester Institute of Technology Book Award
Distinguished Student Award, AP Calculus AB, Honors Chemistry, Honors World Literature/ Honors World Studies</p>

<p>Current Course Load:
AP Chemistry
AP French Language
AP Calculus BC
AP English Lit
AP Physics B</p>

<p>Other AP Classes:
AP Calculus AB [5 on AP test]</p>

<p>Honors Classes:
9th grade- Honors English, Honors Integrated Math 2, Honors French 2
10th grade- Honors English/Social Studies, Honors Integreated Math 3, Honors French 3, Honors Biology
11th grade- Honors World Lit, Honors World History, Honors French 4, Honors Chemistry</p>

<p>Other Classes:
Took Pre-Calculus [year long course] over the summer between 10th and 11th grade, received an A on the final exam</p>

- Student Council 3 years (held 2 leadership roles as a junior, hold presidential position as a senior)

- Student Chair on Teacher Hiring Committee (selected by teachers)
- Volunteer at Habitat for Humanity
- Volunteer at a Therapeudic Riding Center

- Math Team member (2 years)</p>

<p>Work Experience:
- Veterinary Assistant (3x per week)
- Journalist for a city paper (write articles 2x per month re: my school, selected by teachers at my school)</p>

<p>My Personal Statement to Brown fit in the word limit on the website, but was over 500 words (I think that was okay)
It was about an experience I had with students and alcohol and regarded making the right decisions, and how I learned from it.</p>

<p>OH and, my sats :-\ they were very poor, the thing I believe most hinders me from Brown.
SAT Reasoning: 630CR/700M/600W OR 610CR/700M/660W
SAT Subject: 500 Lit / 760 MathI / 770 MathII
[Lit is so bad, it's awful. I'm retaking it in January, along with the Chemistry subject]</p>

<p>OK, I think that's it.
I also applied to Cornell, Dartmouth, Skidmore, U Rochester, and St. Anselm. Skidmore & Rochester are my targets, St. Anselm my safety.

<p>brown is a high reach, followed by cornell and darthmouth. the rest are matches/safeties.</p>

<p>It's "definitely" and "therapeutic". As long as you did thorough spell-checks on your essays, I'd say you have a decent chance at Brown. Of the Ivies, Brown, I believe, cares the least about high SAT scores. And your 5 on the AP Calculus, along with your rigorous senior-year schedule should be an indication of your caliber. I wish you luck.</p>
