Additional Notes:
I got two Ds my sophomore year, in Geometry and German, and just did badly overall due to family circumstances. I've written to both U Del and Bryn Mawr to explain these circumstances.
Also, I've interviewed at Bryn Mawr and I think it went very, very well.

I'd like to know my chances for Bryn Mawr, U Del, Dickinson, Hood, Goucher, and Lynchburg. My intended major is English or Psych.

Also, if you could suggest any match schools in my area (I'm from New Jersey, but I DO NOT want to go in state) I'd greatly appretiate it.

Thanks so much.

Bryn Mawr...Reach
UDelaware...Match
Dickinson...Match
Hood...Safety
Goucher...Safety
Lynchburg...Safety

Some other match schools:
Gettysburg
Franklin & Marshall
Lafayette
Ursinus
Bucknell
Union

Thanks. That's actually what I thought, but I just wanted to get some backup.

I've looked into Gettysburg and I had my SAT/ACT scores sent to Bucknell, but I don't know if I'm going to apply there... I'll take a look at the other schools you mentioned too.

Thanks again- also, anyone else's opinions are welcome as well.

Merry Christmas + a bump

Back to the stars.....I think the prev poster had it about right except for Bucknell....I think that might be a reach...My DD has applied RD to Bucknell, Lafayette, Villanova, Hamilton, BC, Syracuse newhouse, Conn..all reaches or semi reaches, and G'burg, F&M,Loyola in MD as matches. Her SAT's were 1310/2010 ( M-600, V-710, W-700, Essay 11). Takes AP( score 4 or 5) or honors classes save for math her weak link. Very good EC's athletics, clubs, class officer, etc. HS avg 94.5% Anyway what I am trying to say is that we consider the first 7 colleges as reaches so if she doesn't get in we won't be so dissapointed. She would be happy at any of these 10 schools, as her parent I am hoping for some merit money from her matches.

Goingtobebroke- love your name. I think my parents can relate.

I did look into Bucknell for a while, but I didn't get the chance to visit since it's a bit far and my transportation isn't the most reliable. I did get my SAT/ACT scores sent there and now I'm debating if it's worth the application fee to apply when I most likely will be rejected.

Also, F & M is definitly not a match for me... I applied there ED and was rejected. My guidence counselor gave them a call about it and they told me that the applicant pool was fierce this year. I was pretty upset about it and now I'm just trying to move on and find some other schools that are actually matches.

Do you have any other suggestions as to where I should apply or any opinions about my chances at the schools I listed?

How about Muhlenberg in Allentown , PA??? as a match. We toured it last february and liked it very much. Their dorms were really quite nice, etc. My daughters friend goes there and is quite happy. Its also a bit cheaper...about 37K a year.. Theres Sienna up near Albany in NY a catholic college with div 1 sports, lots of school spirit, that would be match or safety for you. How about ED2 to a school like Gettysburg, chances are better if you apply ed. Good luck with your choices./.....Joyce

I assume that you are only applying to private colleges. How about Marist, Susquehanna, American, Providence, Drew, St. Michael's, Quinnipiac? I think that you will be fine at Lynchburg, Goucher, and Hood. The others are are matches or reaches. Make sure that you have some financial safeties if you need them. Since you have UDel on your list, I will suggest applying to a few other OOS schools, unless you are not really interested in a state school (ie; UVM, JMU, GMU, UCONN, UPitt-the last 2 might be reaches, one of the SUNYs)

Thanks. :) I finally decided to add one more school to my list, Ursinus. I'd like to look into applying to a few more, but I think that seven is enough... plus the application fees/CSS profile fees/sending SAT/ACT score reports are absolutely killing me.

Thank you guys for your help.
