Chances at BS/MD Programs (UConn, Siena, Union, Drexel ect.)

<p>I just want people to give me their opinions on whether or not I have a chance at some combined medical programs such as Uconn, siena, union, drexel ect. </p>

<p>I am an African American Male, </p>

<p>GPA 3.73 (93.5) (Weighted on a 4.0 scale)
SAT: CR: 660 MATH: 720 WR: 700
ACT: 31 </p>

<p>AP Courses: World History, U.S History, Statistics, English Language, Biology, Literature </p>

<p>Honors Courses: Physics, Chemistry, Pre Calculus, Geometry, ALg2/Trig, Earth Science, English, Spanish </p>

Worked at Walgreens
Babysit</p>

<p>Total of 600+ Volunteer hours including hospital, nursing home, midnight runs, soup kitchens bringing food and clothes to homeless shelters, running a Senior Citizens Prom at my school</p>

<p>Doing a program this year in which I shadow doctors completing 500 clinical rotation hours, a 25 hour internship, and a 25 Page Medical Research Paper as well as complete an Anatomy and Physiology Course</p>

<p>I think most bs/md programs’ minimum requirements is 1400 and top 10% of your class. I think you have good EC’s so make sure your academics is also up to par. Some also require SAT II’s. But you might want to check individual program’s requirements to make sure.</p>

<p>Well In my essay I wrote about this, but the reason my GPA is not as good as it should be is because I lost my house in Hurricane Irene and I was pretty much homeless for a semester, I also had tuberculosis and missed a month of school my freshman year, so it was difficult to find myself in the top 10% of my class… especially because the lowest gpa in my schools top 10 % is about a 97-98 all this will be expressed through my application and interviews</p>

<p>Please some advice would be nice, im extremely pasionate on becoming a doctor and I am super nervous about all of these programs and I would really love some input please</p>
