Chances at BU, Drexel and others

<p>I posted my stats before in regular chances threads, but now I want to know chances for the BA/MD programs at these schools: BU, Drexel, U of Rochester?</p>

<p>And please let me know if there are other programs which may seem like a good fit for me.</p>

<p>Ethnicity: Indian
College Class Year: 2012</p>

<p>Academics: Total of 5 AP's at end of junior year, and 9 at graduation:</p>

<p>Taken:
AP Biology (5), AP World (4), AP Chemistry (4), AP Stat (4), AP Environmental Science (5)</p>

<p>Will take:
AP Calc AB, AP Lit, AP Econ, AP Spanish</p>

<p>Rank: top 10%, barely? school does not give exact ranking</p>

<p>School is in top 100 of Newsweek rankings</p>

<p>GPA: 3.75 (UW) 3.9 (W)</p>

<p>Scores: SAT I: (superscored) 2180
CR:780 M:680 W:720 </p>

<p>SAT II's: Biology - 750
Chemistry - 700</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: </p>

<p>Envirothon, Model UN, Indian dance team (2 yrs)</p>

<p>Honors and Awards: </p>

<p>USABO semi-finalist, Honorable Mention in National Spanish Exam, 1st place at regional science fair in chemistry for project on biofuels, Meritorious Award for High School Mathematical Modeling Contest. Received a full scholarship from hospital to attend NYLF on Medicine</p>

<p>Summer Activities/Jobs:</p>

<p>Have taken 2 college classes over the summer</p>

<p>Have volunteered for three summers at the hospital with 150+ hours of service.</p>

<p>Currently interning at AstraZeneca</p>

<p>your SAT M definitely needs to be better. i'd look at the school profiles for each of those programs and you need most everything to be in the 75%+ range assuming you do not have some major hook.</p>

<p>BU is the best program of the three in terms of prestige. it has the oldest medical program in the nation.</p>

<p>Your GPA is not very strong. Competition was feirce this year. A lot of valedictorians did not make it into combined BS/MD programs. Looking into each program profile is definately a good idea. There are programs at state schools that are not very well known that you might want to investigate.</p>
