I also took AP US History my junior year as well as Courses at my local community college which included Composition and Grammar I&II, i want to be a journalism major.

GPA:4.0, top 10 % of my class
ACT: 28
SAT Subject Tests:
Literature: 640
History: 600

Your chances are pretty good. Your ACT and EC’s are about average, and your GPA is well above average. However, what’s below average is the rigor of your course load. (Pre-Calc as a senior is kinda weak, and you’re only taking one AP). Also, a 640 Lit is low for someone wanting to major in Journalism.

Believe it or not my school only offers 4 AP Courses. we are pretty small. the third i forgot to put on is the AP Language and Grammar. math is my weak subject but i am taking all the honors and PSEOP classes that are offered besides AP calc.

SAT Literature has nothing to do with journalistic ability, Godfatherbob. It’s just an insanely hard reading comprehension/interpretation test :D

But yeah @ katy369, I’d say you’re competitive. GPA’s awesome, ACT is okay, and SAT IIs are a’ight. I would retake the ACT, though, to boost them chances up.
