Chances at business honors and a couple questions

Stats-
33 ACT, National Merit Semifinalist; I won't send SAT scores, but they may show up on my transcript (1440/2120 I think)
9/283 (at one of the better high schools in Michigan)last I checked. Might have gone up because I did really well 7th semester. So top 3-4%.
ECs- decent, except for that I've run my own business for the last 5 years-making 5k/yr. I'll write about it for my third essay.
My essays probably won't be great because I started late. They'll still be decent though.
Letter of Rec should be good.

How important are the essays for getting into business honors?

On the business honors page, it says all application materials must be received by the 15th. My ACT scores and letter of rec. won't be there by then. Is that OK? I'll have had my app submitted and a transcript sent by then.

What is BUAD and BUAG?

And can I apply on Friday the 15th or do I have to apply before midnight on the 14th?

Bump… Anyone? I can still apply tomorrow right?

According to the A&M website, all supporting documents must be received (not just postmarked) by the deadline of January 15th. That includes your ACT scores and letters of recommendation. You may be too late. I would call admissions and talk to them directly about your predicament.

BUAD is business administration and BUAG is Agribusiness. If you wanted to go for business, why wouldn’t you go for Ross at Michigan? It’s one of best business schools (4th I believe) in the nation and certainly much better than A&M’s.
You have to have everything in on the 15th. Probably too late for that…

Chances are this is a mute point because all of his papers will not make it by the 15th unless a miracle happens. I think you probably would have had a good shot though. Send an E-Mail or something to clarify when they need things received. They might give you a break for being oos. Not likely, but worth a shot if this is the school you really want to go to.

I called. My app and transcript are in. They said I can fax a letter of rec. by the 20th (they extended the dealine for that I guess). I told them I sent out my ACT scores, but that they wouldn’t make it in in time, and they said that since it’s on my transcript I’ll be ok (they’ll still get the official scores, just a few days late). I hope that that lady knew what she was talking about.

I missed the Dec 1 deadline for scholarships, but Casey Ricketts said that I can still get NMF money. It’s my fault for waiting so long to do this. I just hope that something doesn’t go wrong, because there would be no time to fix it.

That is great news to hear jrt except for the missed scholarship deadline lol. But it is not the end of the world, they are letting you get things in slightly late which is great. I really like the staff at TAMU, they seem to be on top of everything. Good luck!

Yeah lol. I didn’t even get mail from them or know they gave money until November. When they sent stuff it didn’t say that I got in state tuition plus all that money. Something finally came in Decmber saying in state tuition and a bunch of money, and I was like “really? you finally tell me now?” But apparently I can still get it. I hope.

Does anyone know where I mark business honors on the app? I can’t find it.

I ended up submitting it and will email them once I get my UIN, because I guess I need that. How long will it take for me to get that?

A couple of weeks for your UIN. Lol, nvm you got deffered for Ross. Wow, ***. That’s ridiculous.

Hopefully I get it before Feb. I think I have a good shot at getting into Ross still though. I had my best semester (all As, not even any A-s). Ross is a 3 year program. Most people don’t apply to it until late freshman year and go for sophomore year. I got into Michigan LSA, but not Ross, at least not yet.
