Yeah...My Resume/scores seem really poor comparing to all the people applying to Wharton and AEM and all. Yes, my CR is a bit low, but that's cuz I came from Korea in 8th grade. I'm going to take TOEFL (Test Of English as Foreign Language) shortly after the October SAT I (tryina raise the CR...). I will take SAT II in November for Chem, Korean, and perhaps Math II again if it's not sufficient for those schools.

I'm tryina study business in college and fashion design in grad. and set up a fashion company (either retail or haute couture). I know, sometimes I laugh at myself too, but didn't wanna go to fashion school where majors are so limited.

So my question is:
1. Do I have hope? JK xD. Which school are for sure and which ones are maybe?
2. Is my SAT too low for Wharton and AEM though I'll take TOEFL?
3. Should I take Math II again?
4. Having some problem with "Why us?" questions for UPenn, Cornell, and CMU. Yes, I did talk about those business schools in particular, but my essays are horrible right now. Maybe cuz I haven't visited any of them. Did some research online though. Any advice?
5. I can NOT find the essay quetion for U Indiana. Anybody knows where to look?

Sorry about my trivial questions. But thanks for taking time to read it.

OMG HEY! I saw you in my thread and was like WUT?! <333

I don't know much about admissions to these programs, so I can't contribute anything too helpful. :( But I have a question: Are you planning on telling colleges about your interest in fashion and how getting a strong education in business will help you with your ultimate goal of establishing yourself in the fashion industry? If so, I think that might be a point of interest to colleges, AND you should definitely submit a portfolio, since you are outstanding. (Anyone else who reads this thread: know that the OP has a true, rarely-encountered talent in art and fashion.)

Other advice: On your resume, highlight your leadership in Japan Club and Math Team. I know from experience what a great, devoted leader you are... so don't you dare downplay it. ;]

Also, if you want, I can help edit the grammar and stuff in your essays... then again, you have a lot of other friends who may be good at that, too. (Just not Lisa. She'd be like, "Nao nao nao, this is wrong! The correct way to say it is 'when my mom borned me...'")

edit: Lawl I just realized that you asked 5 questions and I answered 0.

YES YOU HAVE HOPE hahaha. I'm not familiar enough to rank the schools, though.

I don't think it's too low, although people on here are going to say it's unlikely because Wharton has really high stats blah blah blah. Still, your TOEFL should definitely make up for it.

Eh. It took me two tries to get 750 so I can't answer that one, lol.

Hmmm... I dunno. You really kinda have to fall in love with aspects of the schools... and for me, that just takes a while. It may be the same for you. The more you read and find out, the more you'll find to like about these universities and programs, and the easier it'll be to write essays about them! :]

Do you have a commonapp.org account? Er, and is U Indiana a CommonApp school? If the answer to both is yes, it should be available in the 'Supplements' section there, unless it's not released yet (some schools' supplements still aren't out.)

oh hai der.

yes, i am definitely mentioning my career plans with fashion design and such. think that's the most unique part about me.

and no, u indiana is not a commonapp school :[. i hope they just don't have their supp out.

thanks for replying!!! <3

Penn's Wharton school is a HUGE REACH, especially straight from high school.

sorry to disappoint, but u wont get into wharton with what u have....not even if u get an 800 on CR...srry

@ BigWeight: Why not? You know that her GPA is on a 4.0 scale, right? I don't see any part of her resume numbers-wise that could possibly be improved besides the English parts of the SAT.

If you're referring to the lack of business-related extracurriculars, though, you're probably right that it's an uphill battle. It's still worth a try, though.

that's what i thought! xD

what about other schools though?
