chances at business/ top schools

first, just to clarify, can you apply to virginia, unc, wake forest, or/and michigan business coming in as a freshman or when do you apply?

also, what are my chances to getting into those schools.

gpa 4.3 weighted
act 32
live out of state for all those schools
ec's- above average, not great
class rank- top 8 percent in class of about 600.

thanks

bump... anything would be appreciated

Wake Forest allow direct admission to the business schools at time of application. It is the Calloway school. (not to be confused with Babcock, which is their graduate school of Business).

Michigan generally does not, but they have a special application specifically for this. You can get "direct admission status as a freshman to enter the business school as a sophomore. Only about 115 students are offered this, however, and the acceptance rate is only 16%.

Here's the link for info on this:

Virginia requires that you apply after acceptance--and it's to their McIntire School of Commerce, not to their Darden School of Business (which is the graduate business school). They suggest you apply so you enter after your second year.

UNC requires that you apply after your first year

My guess is that you can get into both Wake Forest and also Michigan (high school freshman direct admit), if you have any business experience or a lot of high-level ECs. As I indicated above, you cannot get direct admit to the Virginia or UNC business schools as a high-school senior.

In relooking at the UNC site, it appears you have to be a sophomore to apply as a UNC student also. My apologies for the error. Then it is a two-year program to complete.

thanks for the responses... what are my chances to get into unc and virginia?

bump... thanks ahead

This is what i was thinking just from reading other peoples' stats/ chances

University of Illinois business- safe match
wake business - match
michigan business- match
unc business-slight reach
virginia business-slight reach
ND- reach
duke- high reach

I know some of the schools do not admit freshman so i basically just mean unc, viriginia-- i didnt think wake admitted freshman in business-- can anybody clarify. also, what do you think of my chances? (stats above) thanks

anybody... please? just looking for one or two comments
