Seeing that my friend already got her acceptance letter for the same major, I’m worried about my chances of being accepted to CPP since my scores are slightly less than hers.
I think you have a very solid chance. I asked about my chance for CPP earlier, and people were telling me about how the CSUs rank by eligibility index (which works like: (3.36x 800) + (1270)= 3958)). And according to a commenter of my thread, “you need to be in the 3800 EI range for a solid chance.” And you’re above that. So you definitely have a fairly good chance. Maybe not the tippy top best, but good.
Definitely higher than me at least, the guy with a 3410 index hoping to get in CPP…sighhhhh. But whatever.
Good luck! I wish the best and hopefully you get in
@potato16 CPP is my top choice since it’s close enough to home but also far enough to have some independent vibes (plus I’m limited to schools that are within an hour radius from my home -_-) so I’m super anxious haha. But anyway thank you for the encouragement. I hope that you get accepted as well
@Gumbymom The site says that my unweighted is 3.43, weighted is 3.89, and weighted and capped is 3.71. I included this semester’s grades as well (even though the semester is not done yet).
So your EI is (3.75 x800) + (1270) = 4270. You are definitely a competitive applicant and should be hearing soon. Impacted major decisions sometimes take longer so Good Luck.
@Cyndy2294 you have a pretty solid chance at getting in, your major isn’t impacted and transfers usually get accepted with lower gpas too!
So you have a pretty good chance.
@Gumbymom Hi, you seem to know a lot of information about Cal Poly Pomona so I would like to ask a few questions.
I am interested in the entertainment marketing program at Cal Poly Pomona, which happens to not be impacted. As a local admit, would having an EI score anywhere from 3700 to 3800 earn me good chances to getting accepted?
@smartstudent1000: There is no specific EI threshold for any major at CPP. Being a non-impacted major and local will definitely help your chances but there is never any guarantees. Your EI is within range but it all depends upon your competition for next year. Definitely worth an application but my advice is always cast a wide net to a variety of schools for the best chances.
