I really want to apply to Cal Poly for architecture, but am unsure if I can get in since it's so competitive so I'm thinking about applying under Business, Physics, or Mathematics.

So.. what are my chances in those 4 majors?

I'm also looking at Cal Poly Pomona, California College of the Arts, University of Nevada: Las Vegas, Woodbury University, and a few other architecture schools.

So.. what are my chances at those schools? Any suggestions as to where I should apply to for achitecture?

You are in easily.

under Architecture at Cal Poly SLO? You think?

if that's what you mean, you just made my night :]

Sorry, architecture is not a slam dunk. But if that's what you want, you can't apply for anything else, they will let almost no one transfer into architecture. A think you're in for math or physics.

you can still get in. architecture is pretty cometitive there, but i think you have a shot

Easily in for pretty much any major. But architecture is ultra competative there. TBH, it seems like you have a real interest in architecture, and your EC's reflect that. I would imagine you would get in, but it's not a sure thing. Good luck :)

suze: i know it's not a slam dunk, that's why i was wondering if you meant architect. i know i can't apply for more than one.. that's why i was debating on whether to apply under a different major and then transfer in

eugenia: well.. thanx. i hope you're right :]

hopeful01: thanx. i know cal poly doesn't really pay attention to all the ec's, they just want to know many hours you've put in, but they do ask if the work is involved in the major so i'm hoping that will help.

Hey... my friend had almost identicle stats (less sports and more APs) and she just got accepted!!!!!!!!!!
I think you have a really, really good chance!

ahhh!! that makes me feel really good! i can't really do anything about the whole APs except maybe teach myself, but i'd rather just take the classes at the community college.. but yay!! hopefully things will go good for me too! and tell your friend i said congrats! she's soo lucky!!

My friend who goes to Cal Poly SLO said that its probablly easier to withdraw from the school and reapply for another major than try and transfer your major after being admitted, so apply under the major that you want to actually pursue.

Safe match.

kyledavid80: i hope you're right

anyone else?

Cal Poly SLO (architecture): Match

It may be closer to a safe match, but because architecture at SLO is very competitive, im gonna call it a match. Maybe safe match. You should be in.

More or less everyone in my grade wants to go to Cal Poly for architecture (since I'm in socal, it's even more prevalent). It's sort of sad, because there are other excellent schools in Cali for architecture...

kyledavid80: well.. what other schools in cali do you think are good for architecture?!
