Chances at Califonia Schools

Hi, I am a hispanic male from Texas. I attend a highly competitive private school.

GPA: 3.9 (With meaningless classes such as ROTC and Spanish lowering it signifcantly, A's in all college level classes)
Rank: 7/110
PSAT:205
SAT: I am expecting a 2100.
ACT: Wondering if should take it because it I took a practice test and only missed one each on math and science.
SAT II's: Haven't taken any yet. I could probably get high 700's-800 in IC or IIC Math. I don't what my second one should be. If I am taking Chemistry my senior year when could I take the SAT II for that? Is it too late to sign up for June SAT II's?

AP's: Already Taken- Eng Lit-probably 3-4, US History probably 4-5 Next Year- Stats, Eng Lang, Calculus BC, Chemistry (All other classes are honors and I am taking every single AP class available)

College Classes: 6 hours in C++, Data Structures, 3 hours in Dual-Credit Chemistry

EC's:
National Hispanic Scholar
Captain of Academic Club/Team
-2nd Place Computer Science TAPPS District Academic Meet
-6nd Place Computer Science TAPPS State Academic Meet
Guardian Angels Club, Science Club
Leader of a Church group
Football, Track
NHS
Captain of Nationally recognized, sponsored paintball team
Tons of Service hours in Tutoring, Habitiat for Humanity, etc.
Lots of Work Experience
Others that are escaping me right now...

Please evaluate chances at:
Cal Poly
UC's
-LA
-SD
-R
-Other California Schools you would suggest?
I don't a whole lot about cal schools, but my parents are moving there right after my senior year so I will probably attend school somewhere in the state.

Major Possiblities:
Engineering, Pre-Med, Biotechnology, other sciences.

It is SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult for a out of state student to gain acceptance to a CA state school. Being an URM wont help because Prop 209 removed ethnicity as a factor in the UC's admission policy. That said.

U could prolly get into SD. SD is a reach. All Cal Poly is a match. UoP has a preety good engineering program.

You have very nice stats...and if you were in-state, I wouldn't really hesistate to say you have great chances.

Even though you are out of state, I would say you're a very strong applicant, so apply, and pray.

Good Luck!

inseniarator:

UCLA: Reach (out of state, Engineering)
UCSD: Slight Reach (out of state, Engineering)
UCR: Safe Match (out of state)
Cal Poly SLO: Match (out of state)

Thanks guys! What about UCD? Pepperdine? Also when would I be considered a resident according to UC's standards by moving there after my senior year?

with those stats, apply to STANFORD! youve got a good shot. and why CA? since ur in texas you should apply east as well. "california cool" is overrated.

aim higher. you should be like a shoe-in at cornell.

"hispanic" is the kicker.

"aim higher. you should be like a shoe-in at cornell"

yeah, and if you don't get into Cornell, you'll get into Brown or Darmouth. Go for Ivy :)...they love hispanics.

Definetaly apply to UTA and Rice. They are both amazingin Engineering. The UCs will be tough, but go for it anyway. Believe it or not, I like your chances better at Stanford than at UCLA or UCB.

In the East, apply to Cornell, Johns Hopkins, MIT and Michigan.

oh oops i just saw that ur parents are moving to california.
