Chances at CalPoly Slo and UCs with 4.0 but bad SATs?

<p>I was wondering what were my chances into CalPoly Slo with a major in Architecture and into any UC's with a major in either Architecture or a type of design or science. So please help. </p>

<p>I go to high school in California (one of the top tier public high schools in San Diego, if it matters)
I'm Filipino (I think Californian colleges categorize Filipinos a minority like Hispanics and not so much Asian because we're not as smart, if it matters)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0
Unweighted GPA: 3.96
Rank 74 out of 543 seniors</p>

<p>Here's the dissapointing part, sigh:
SAT: 1740 (planning to retake in December)
Math: 680
Critical Reading: 480 (definitely not going to be a liberal arts major)
Writing: 580 (heard CalPoly is not including Writing in total score)</p>

<p>SAT II, Math IIc: 650 (under average sadly)
Physics: 560 (don't laugh please, I was a sophomore when I took it)</p>

<p>AP Calculus AB: 3
AP Biology: In progress
AP Calculus BC: In progress</p>

<p>Extracurricular Activities:
(grade 9-11) Yearbook staff Section Editor.
(grade 12) Yearbook staff Editor-in-Chief (yearbook is my life as you can see)
Placed First in the 2004 San Diego Journalism Write Offs.
Red Cross Club Historian.
NHS and CSF members.
150+ Hours of Community Service
Took a Summer Exploratory Program in the New School of Architecture in San Diego (maybe that'll help with CalPoly)</p>

<p>I'm worried about those schools that just use the "number system", all because of my crappy SAT scores and lack of AP classes. So any suggestions or responses will help, thanks.</p>

<p>I didn't notice the screen name... I just saw that the class had 543 students in it so I knew it was Westview. Then I saw editor in cheif for Yearbook so it had to be you. It is just coincidence that I replied so quickly.</p>

<p>The Red Cross Club thing.. i basically just did the relay for life last year so I was tagged onto the club at the end of the year</p>

<p>yeah, I had a feeling what UCs I had a good, bad, or obvious chance at getting into. Thing is, UCB is the only UC with a good Architectural program (unless someone can tell me otherwise), and that's definitely out of my league. </p>

<p>So I think I'll go to CalPoly SLO for Architecture instead. I think it's like in the top five best Architect schools in the nation next to Harvard and its better than UCB. Can someone clarify that for me?</p>
