SAT: 800M 660CR 690WR --- Total : 2150

GPA: 4.05/5.0(ranks around 16% in my HS, which I think is VERY weak, although my grades improved exponentially throughout the years of HS. I didn't even know what GPA is in 9th grade)

SAT II's : 800 MATH_II , 800 Chemistry

I probably got 5's on BC Calculus, Chemistry, Statistics AP's (scores are coming out in a few weeks)

I do have some achievements in math competitions such as
2 time USAMO qualifier, AMC school winner, 7 on 2006 ARML, 3rd place in a state math competition this year...

Do I have any chances?

To be honest, at first I thought you had no chances until I saw the 2 time USAMO qualifier. I would say that now you have a decent chance of getting in. What are your ECs? Are you on math and science teams? If so your chances go up. Also, are you doing any research? Your chances go up again. GL.

really good chances man
beast

i don't know if caltech would take you with a 2150 and 16% rank. yes, it's a very number driven school. but that means they look at your SAT/GPA in addition to other numbers

i say reject (plenty of folks who quality for USAMO AND do well on SAT/GPA)

Well, what brought down the OP's rank? If it were english/history courses, Caltech won't give a ****. (And I say the OP is in) If it was just laziness in general...then the OP is in danger. USAMO qualifier though is a very big plus.

english/history courses, although i was lazier in 9th grade than in my junior year

amazing chance because of your competition.
take more science SAT IIs

AP scores confirmed (5's on AP Chemistry, BC Calculus, AP Statistics), if that makes any difference.

Also I am also going to apply to Cornell, UMichigan, Carnegie Mellon,... what are my chances for these schools?

where should I apply as a safety school?

^taking more science SAT IIs can't hurt.

Michigan= I'm pretty sure that you'll get in.
Carnegie Mellon= probably in
Cornell= decent shot, but depends on who you're up against.

4.05 UW gpa um ok?

Good test scores, good gpa, great ecs

Caltech - High Match/Reach
Michigan - Safety
Carnegie Mellon - Match
Cornell - Match/High Match

gl in college =D
