Chances at CAS

Here are my stats:
SAT I: 2150 (V 750 M 650 W 750)
SAT II's: US Hist 640 Spanish 660 (retaking some)
ACT: 32
GPA: 3.76 (unweighted at highly competitive prep school)
Here the colleges I am interested in now:

Applying ED to CAS... assume good ec's, recs, and essays. Would it be wise for me to apply to two schools just to get into the school and then transferring to CAS?

In my opinion, your SAT I is competitive (but ur math score is a bit risky only if you intend to apply for math-related majors) and your GPA is all right (if you are in top 10% in rank, and got other good stuffs to cover that up).

Although your super low SAT II marks worry me (but SAT II doesn't rly matter much), as long as you got good recs, essays, and ec's (by ec's I don't mean usual volunteer stuffs, I mean respectable leadership positions and responsibilities).

And for applying to two colleges, I don't think its a very good idea. It's cuz if you don't get into your primary choice, u won't get into your secondary one. Plus, u gotta write extra essays for secondary-choice college. According to the Cornell University website, "only exceptional students will be considered for admission by their secondary-choice colleges." But it is up to you. Making sure wouldn't hurt, would it? ;)

Well, since I'm applying to CAS early as well, basically you and I are on the same boat XD. Hope we both get in.

Good luck,

yeah I do not plan on doing anything that comes close to math...so I would hope that the 650 would not hurt me all that much...I mean it shows competancy, I can not imagine a 650 (although relativly low) will raise my red flags considering I am not going to do anything with math/science. I am taking the SAT II's again in October...lit. and still deciding on another, but does anybody know really how much weight they put on SAT II's? Will my ACT counterbalance my SAT II's?

i would submit your ACT definitely. the 50% range is 29-32. i dont know about CAS, but for AAP in arch, i needed 2 SAT IIs regardless if i submitted the SAT or ACT. check up on that. if you dont need SAT IIs, dont even bother sending them <sat iis="" or="" sats=""> out</sat>

yeah the require two....I just hope they will consider my ACT, they will right? or are they only going to look at my SAT's?

bump--------

eheheheh??
