1) Egypt is in Africa
2) Egyptian people are ‘white’
3) Someone who lives in America with Egyptian ancestors is not African American because they are not black
4) All African Americans are black people and all black people are African Americans, except cubans and other dark skinned people, oh well.
5) North African Americans are white but not African American.
6) If you put African American on a paper expect to benefit from some type of affimative action, because college admissions people etc. are too stupid to realize that all African Americans are not black, even though there is a spot on a form where you can put your country of origin.

you’re refusing to understand my argument in the first place and interpreting it as you like. no point in repeating what i’ve already made quite clear.

right, you said you understood and then proceeded to make an argument that demonstrated your complete lack of understanding. so i’m dropping it. let’s leave at that, i’m not posting here again.

people who put white and african-american are not necessarily white people from africa…someone could have a black father and white mother (like Barack Obama) in which case he/she would put White and African American…

P.S. This is a chance me thread, so chance me or get the hell out, lol

I think you have a really good chance even RD, but make sure to work on your application - in the end, that will make you stand out amongst all the other really smart kids and get you accepted. I’m guessing this isn’t your first choice school, but make sure that they can’t tell that from your app.
