I realize that my profile is sports-oriented. I have spent most of my summers playing basketball (my passion) or lacrosse and did not have time for other things. With that said, my academic rigor is very high as I have also taken one or two foreign languages since seventh grade.

Also, How much does being a double legacy help?

Thanks.

It seems like you have a good chance! Your GPA is great but your SATs are a little on the low side. Colby usually wants more in the 2000-2100 range (also I don’t think they look at the writing portion). So I think it would be best if you took the SAT another time. Your ECs are very strong which will definitely make up for the fact that your SATs are a little low. I’m also not sure how the legacy thing works at Colby but I would assume that like most schools Colby would love to have you to continue the legacy especially since you would be the third generation attending. I think you have awesome chances of getting in! Good luck!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I plan on taking SATs again. I read somewhere that legacy applicants have a 20-30% boost in admissions. Has anyone else heard anything?

Also, would applying ED1 help?

Applying ED1 will definitely help show Colby that you are interested and committed to attending. If you’ve talked to the basketball coach here as well, that would also be helpful. Good luck!

ED + legacy + high-achieving in sports + good GPA is excellent. I know the SAT is slightly below the range, but since you have so many other things going for you, I don’t think it matters too much. However, I feel that you might want to retake the SAT just to increase your already-great chances of getting accepted. Good luck!
