Chances At Colgate, Swarthmore, Hamilton, and Haverford?

<p>SAT I: 720 CR 650 Math 700 Writing (2040 all together)
Haven't taken SAT II's or ACT yet
GPA: 3.8-3.9 depending on how my final grades turn out (currently a Junior)</p>

<p>AP European History: 5
AP US History: haven't taken exam yet
AP English Literature: haven't taken exam yet</p>

<p>Pretty much every class I take or have taken that isn't AP is advanced at my school, which has a very rigorous curriculum</p>

<p>Next year I will be taking AP Art History, AP Spanish 4, Calculus, Advanced English, Anatomy, and possibly working in the nationally leading Art Conservation department of a local University</p>

Model UN all 4 years (head of school's club, came 3rd out of 40 in committee at last conference)
Masterminds two years, (will be leading next year) currently undefeated
National History Bowl and Bee (2nd year going to nationals, not sure about next year) 3 years
SUMA 3 years
GSA 4 years
Student Council Junior Year
VOYA book review club (reviews published in national library magazines) 2 years
Jewish Cultural Awareness club 3 years
Third year summer intern at Biomedical Research Facility (had to apply to get in, focusing on genetic research regarding ribosomal proteins, second year leading team of other students)
Horseback Riding: (English, 6 yrs have shown but not that much)
Worked at Summer Camp for small children at Barn (About 4 years)
Involved in several community service efforts at school
IEA team for my barn 2 years</p>

<p>I would also try schools that have equestrian clubs and use that as a reason for strong interest to that school during your college ap. Try schools like Brandeis, Mount Holyoke if you are a female, and whatever other school is active in the field. Try to study and take practice tests so you can re-take the SAT. There is a good chance that you can raise it, even by 50 points. Otherwise you have a good chance with those schools. Also, try for geographical diversification.</p>

<p>Although you may think that 650 on math will kill you, it won’t I got into Swarthmore, waitlisted at MIT, and into Hamilton with a 670 in Math. So try and improve, but don’t worry too much, you are in a good range.</p>

<p>That being said, for smaller schools like the LACs, make sure you show A LOT of interest. You should interview, visit, email professors and admissions people, meet with them at the college. Demonstrated interest is huge at these smaller schools.</p>
