I was wondering what my chances would be at colgate early decision

-GPA 3.6 in a private school with strong academics
-Mostly honors courses
-3 APs senior year
-ACT 30
-SAT Math: 600 Critical Reading: 730 Writing: 660 (planning to retake to improve my math score)
-highly involved in horseback riding (year round, everyday)
-approximately 130 hours community service
-two school clubs

The equestrian thing might help you - Colgate has both English and Western teams and although they’re club level only and don’t recruit, it might be a good hook. It was my main extracurricular in high school (in addition to swimming all 4 years, soccer for 2 and tennis for 1 and pretty much nothing else). My main common app essay was about a serious riding accident I had when I was 9 and how it made me stronger, blah blah.

I was involved in both teams, so let me know if you have any questions about the riding program/IHSA!

You look like a good strong applicant for Colgate. I’d apply, and hope for the best. Admissions are flukey at times, of course, and nothing is guaranteed. Colgate turns down over 2/3 of its applicants, many of them very good. But, you look like you have a very good chance of being admitted.
