I think am extremely happy with my essay which illustrates my experiences in Sweden and their effect upon me.

I have applied to the 11 schools below and have already been accepted to Allegheny:

Alllegheny COllege,
Columbia College(NYC)
Carleton College
College of Wooster
Dartmouth College
Bowdoin College
Colby College
Rice University
Trinity University
University of San Diego
Washington University in St. Louis

I was just curious what you think my chances will be at these other schools.

Allegheny College- Foundation
Columbia College- Reach
Carleton- Reach without international status. With international status, a possible 50/50.

College of Wooster- Foundation
Dartmouth College- Reach
Bowdoin- Reach without international status. With international status, a possible 50/50.

Colby- Maybe the same as Bowdoin and Carleton, but Colby is more of a foundation than the other two.

Rice- not a reach. More of a 50-50 possibly.
Trinity University- foundation
University of San Diego- I dunno much info about this school
Washington University- a toss up. I think it is a 50/50 to Reach.

Yeah, Rice is really selective - I would guess it would be more selective than Bowdoin and Carleton. Bowdoin doesn't even require that you send SAT scores, so that has to make the admission process slightly easier.

Rice is extremely selective, but I was using what percentage the acceptees rank in their high school classes. According to that, Bowdoin and Carlteton are more selective because for Bowdoin, 100% of its acceptees rank in the top 50% of their high school classes. For Carleton, it is 99%. For Rice, 97%-98% of its acceptees rank in the top 50%. So, I used that methodology alone. However, if I used acceptance rate and SAT Range alone, Rice is a reach for you, Bowdoin would still be a possible reach, and Carleton would be more of a 50/50.

RandomPerson, I know the admissions officers of Bowdoin college really well, and the process which they go through. Believe it or not, not having SAT Score results mandatory makes the admissions decision even more complicated because they are in other words forced to look at other qualities such as extracurriculars, awards, essays, etc., something of which a lot of universities don't do. Through this process, they reject plenty of 1600 SAT Scorers because they look for quality not quantity, and Rice tends to look more for quantity, which is easy because they can easily rule out applicants with low SAT Scores, and Bowdoin cannot do that, which therefore makes Bowdoin tougher to get into than Rice.
