Engineering and technology club founder + president: Created the club at my school. I have worked on several projects, but the most memorable has to be the 3D prosthetic limb I created. The limb works by sensing muscle tension in one’s arm and contracting and retracting based in the sensor’s input. My work was published in the school paper and I have published research on my advancements as well.
I spearheaded a fundraiser to help raise money for a condition I was diagnosed with 2 years ago: Eosinophilic Esophagitis. We raised over $50,000 which has all gone to funding research.
I speak to other teenagers my age publicly to help them cope with the disease. I hope that sharing my story with them shows that they aren’t struggling alone.
Science Olympiad: I have competed in several tournaments ranging from Biology (Anatomy) to physics, and have won multiple awards.
I am a peer tutor at my school. I’ll stay after classes to assist underclassmen with coursework they are struggling to understand.
I know how to read and code on Python, Java, Swift, and C++.
I’ve shadowed various physicians at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY.
I volunteered at St. Francis Hospital for 100+ hours.
That’s it! Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my query!
