Chances at Columbia, Yale, and Penn??

Thought that you were a sure admit until you confessed about the PSAT score of 1510/1520.

If you are certain that medical school is your goal, then you need to consider Brown University & Northwestern University. Both schools have special programs which assure admission to their respective medical schools.

@Publisher what do you mean for the PSAT scores?

Just testing your sense of humor. Sometimes I forget that most posters are still in high school. In short, it means that you are not perfect because you obviously missed at least one question on the PSAT.

Consider Northwestern University’s HPME. Complete medical school in 7 years, rather than 8, and not required to take the MCAT (unless wanting to do a joint MD/PhD). Saves a year of college costs & able to go through college with a lower level of stress that is often associated with those aspiring to go to medical school.

Brown’s PLME is an 8 year program.

@Publisher, I thought it was joke but got confused since a lot of ppl on this website are perfectionists lol! I am interested in the BS/MD programs because of the advantages you mentioned, but I am not sure if I have enough of the medical extracurriculars that seem to be “required” for admission into these super-selective program. Thanks!

Sure. Northwestern only permits HPME applicants to apply RD ( no ED) which allows one to apply to multiple colleges & universities & see the results.

There are about 40 such programs, but many are 8 years & many still require an MCAT score.

With top scores in ACT and SAT2 and great ECs, you will be competitive for Ivies. But for top BS/MD programs (Brown PLME, NW HPME) you lack of volunteering/clinical shadowing (unless you forgot to mention). Pre-med is best at Brown/Yale/UPenn, not UChicago.
