Hi I am just looking for some feedback on my chances at Columbia(or any other top schools), any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

Junior: Male/Indian
SAT Score 1st time: 2170: Cr-720 M-720 W-730
Should I retake it? (I can do better in math)

Sat II's - History-740 Math-750

XC'S: Varsity basketball and football
Karate 6yrs
National Honors Society
Member of 2 clubs
Secretary of my class
GPA - 4.15 5 APS senior year
Very Competitive HS- Class Rank top 10%

Community Service: Extensive Hospital Work, Tutoring at Special Ed. school

Over the next 10 months, focus on something you think you can really shine in. You have the usual profile of the typical well-qualified applicant to Columbia, but to make a difference you need to come off as a "superstar" in something. That something need not be academic or even academic-related. your community service, if heartfelt and passionate, can turn into something cool - maybe if you were to show leadership and initiative in that area. Or your sports. Or do something innovative with your class council, although that's somewhat risky since it's all BS anyway. Depends on what you care about.

You're well-rounded, but being a superstar helps immensely, in proportion to the degree you can make it look like you are one.
