<p>par72, key word about BC "was." It was a commuter school, but it really isn't anymore. I think the appeal lies that it is a nice-sized school that affers a lot (it's actually a university, not a college), but it's not a giant state school; it is close enough to Boston that that city plays a key role in social life, and Boston has been noted as "the best college city in the world" by many; the academics are strong (granted, it's not an ivy, but...) and well-respected, but they also have awesome athletics, which means students have lots of spirit. I won't deny that it has been a "trendy" school lately, but I think it deserves a lot of the positive attention it has been getting.</p>
<p>i agree with 70reve4rotag. BC isn't an ivy but it is a well respected university, and no longer a commuter school.</p>
