Please I need to know what people think. I have some safeties and some Ivies (which I know are reaches). I would really like to attend Cooper Union because I love NYC and it is a great school right here. What are my chances? Will chance back!

Cooper Union - High Match

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/831894-chance-person-worst-grades-site-will-chance-back.html</a></p>

cooper union sounds like a good match, thanks for the chance:), good ecs and community service good luck

Oh my, you didn’t need to write all of that…
you will get in.

This is Regular Decision mind you…

PLEASE anyone else??!?!?!

Seems like a good match for you, although it likely leans further to the reach side, based on the stats on their site. You have very strong ECs and have interesting personal factors that set you further apart. Plus, being a NY native is likely to help. The only possible “weakness” would be the test scores, but they lie within the range so they can’t hurt you.

Best of luck with applications!

(If you get a chance, would you please chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/831433-chances-please-asian-female-nj.html</a>)

Thanks everyone for the opinions! Anyone else?! Please! Really anxious senior here!

Cooper Union - low reach

How can I improve my chances?
I am sending 2 recommendations should I send a third?

Also anyone else???

A third recommendation is most likely not going to benefit you significantly. I would say you’re a decent match as of right now, and just make sure you have a killer essay and you’ll be good to go.

Thanks! Don’t worry I will. Cooper doesn’t have a formal essay, but a 13 question questionaire. I am working really hard on it!

Anyone else???

I think with all of your hooks, you would be a no - brainer to cooper union. You should also aply to columbia, i think that that would not be too massive of a reach for you either. Thanks for the chance.

90% you’re in I think. GPA and test scores don’t seem to be in the highest range but you have other things working in your favor and the essay topic sounds beyond perfect

Could you please chance back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/832064-probably-below-avg-kid-applying-uiuc-please-chance.html</a></p>

you have a good chance, good luck the third recommendation won’t hurt:)

You’ll get in, just try to get that 3rd Rec. You really improved your SAT’s, good job =]

chancee mee please =]

hmm i know that the way cooper union does their admissions is by looking @ gpas, then SAT scores and they have some numerical system that they useee… actually, lemme just get it off their website

“The Engineering School Admissions Committee determines an appropriate formula for admission. All numerical factors of an applicant’s record – high school average, SAT I and SAT II scores, high school math and science averages – are factored into the formula to produce an “admissions score,” the initial determinant for admission. Then the essays and teacher/counselor recommendations are considered to ensure that the admission offers reflect an accurate match between applicant and institution.”

Judging from that, your SAT scores might be a little on the low side but everything other than your academics are really good, so it should boost your chances

goodluck!

[thread=830377]Chance me! :slight_smile: Will chance back[/thread]

Thanks everyone. I really do hope I get in… Im so anxious, nervous, you name it.
