What would you say my chances are at these schools:

Thank you, I really appreciate your help,

You should also apply to Stanford and Princeton..this way you can increase your chances of getting into an Ivy. Your GPA may be seen as borderline.

Good chance at CMU and Boston University, but GPA's going to hurt you a lot unfortunately.

Which northeastern schools might be more forgiving towards a 3.5 unweighted gpa?

bump.

Anyone? Even if it's only a few sentences, I would really appreciate any responses.

most likely in at CMU and BU, probably in at Tufts.

You have a more than decent chance at Cornell and Dartmouth, but the GPA is a bit low...

MIT is iffy, particularly since they like peope who've done independent research and ish.

Vancat, thanks for your response. If anyone else has any comments or advice, please feel free to leave them.

As I read the comments I can't help but wonder if being it the top 7% indicates that 3.53 is a more respectable GPA at your school than it is at some others.

i dont see how he has a chance at MIT or Dartmouth...

other schools are matches, BU is a safety

"As I read the comments I can't help but wonder if being it the top 7% indicates that 3.53 is a more respectable GPA at your school than it is at some others."

Yes, I think (hope) that that is the case. My school does not really have grade inflation. Also, I took the hardest course load the school offers.

When you guys say that I have a good chance at CMU, are you referring to the College of Science or the School of Computer Science? I heard that the computer science program was extremely hard to get into.

Also, I know it's hard to gauge, but what would you say my chances at Cornell are?

BTW, I realize that I have almost no chance at MIT and a very small chance at Dartmouth.

Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

bump.

Can someone, maybe someone who posted here before, answer this question:

"When you guys say that I have a good chance at CMU, are you referring to the College of Science or the School of Computer Science? I heard that the computer science program was extremely hard to get into."

As always, any and all responses are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,
Dimitry

bumping it up...
