chances at cornell/dartmouth as international student

Im an international student , and basically want to hear some opinions from fellows who have experience with university admissions

Only taken the sat atm , taking both toefl and sat math 2 & physics in the next months

My score is essentially 590 cr , 650 writing , 800 math , total of 2040
Im looking mostly for some type of engineering or IT , but i will probably change my mind if it could help me with my admission

extra activities consists mostly of mathematics olympiads , and the gpa is maxed

would these colleges give me a break regarding cr/writing scores for being an international student?
do i have chances for getting admitted?

thanks in advance

I’m no expert but your SAT is low for such schools, but not impossible. If you’re applying for aid your chances are much lower. You need to have AMAZING essays to compensate for your SAT score. You should have more varied ECs because Olympiads aren’t really an activity that you take part in over a long period of time. Sports? Clubs?
What country are you from? If you’re from Asia you’re not competitive by that region’s standards. There are so many factors involved in admission.

Good knowledge of English is essential to be competitive in those schools. So you need to have a competitive score!
