I have no experience working at a hotel or the like.

I know that the interview plays a big role at the school of hotel management...and they ask about prior experience w/ hospitality...do seniors in high school really have this experience? I have been all over the country (Cali, Florida, NY, Chicago, New Mexico, Arizona, Virginia...pretty much everywhere in US) and China so I have some knowledge about the hospitalities in different areas. Any ideas about how to do the interview?

Thanks!

Your academics look fine, and your ec’s look god as well, but hospitality experience really is a large factor in admissions. I think around 87% of freshman admitted had experience last year, but this does not mean you won’t get in if you dont have any experience. You need to demonstrate a passion for hospitality in your interview, have some questions prepared, and if possible, research your interviewer to have some talking points, and discussing your diverse travels will perhaps buoy your lack of hospitality experience, as the hotel school is a culturally diverse school and program, and you already have a leg up on that.
Good luck,
Let me know if you have any other questions…
