Amherst:
“Just how exclusive is that event?”
I do not know. I heard that you will have very good chances If you got invited and accepted to particapte.
I was invited to apply, but I was not accepted for the event. I did not apply to Amherst (I was ‘angry’).

I believe you can apply even though you are anot invited. Check the website.

(Williams, Swarthmore … LACs have diversity events.)

JHU: I remember I missed the deadline for interview request.

20more-
I don’t think its possible to apply without the invitation. I looked it up on the website about a month ago actually but they only have information about it with no application options, so I suppose it would have had to come in the mail.

Because I never looked deeply into it though, I never really knew the odds of being invited or anything like that

Did you still apply to JHU after missing the deadline, or was your application not valid after that??

Interview is not a big part of admission.
I missed the deadline for interview request (missed the interview obviously) but I still applied. I was waitlisted though. (I don’t think it was beacuse of the missed interview.)

LAC Diversity events: I have no idea how they pick students but I was invited (to apply) from several LACs.

Sorry for the late response, I’ve been having some serious computer issues.

I don’t think I checked for any LACs besides Amherst, especially since the typical influxes of college mail have overwhelmed me to the point that they’re now all stuffed in a 20 pound box that I’ve occasionally gone through when I’ve had time.

I guess I should check for the other top LACs though, since it seems like I’d have a better chance of getting into one that has invited me
