That is a compelling trait. Perhaps write an essay on that and how it helped the earthquake victims. Raise those SAT scores, and you're in everywhere. As it is now, Stanford, Dartmouth, and UNC are reaches but I think you would even get in at those places with a good essay on your earthquake relief.

thanks nathan, I am planning on raising the SATs in October, the current scores were my first try. I am also hoping to get my subject test scores up by the november, so that I can apply ED to one of those schools more than likely, Brown, or Dartmouth

A lot of your schools are very competitive. GPA and SATs are only a way to qualify for your application to be reviewed, they are just barometers, a certain test score and GPA won't get you in at many of these schools. They are looking for interesting and unique individuals. I look at your ECs, and absolutely nothing stands out, nothing screams "this person is unique!" except for the Pakistan relief. You'll get into many of your schools based on your grades, but for the ultra-competitive schools (Brown, Stanford, Dartmouth), you could be receiving rejection letters unless you make yourself stand out. Write a good essay, show your passion to them. I think you'll get into Carnegie Mellon, NYU, UNC-CH, and UT-Austin pretty easily. Raise your SAT scores, they are low for these schools even.

do you think i have a shot at Emory?

could i have some more feedback

Honestly, I don't know much about Emory; I've never really considered it because it's in Atlanta (I don't like Atlanta). I'd say work on your SAT and you're definetely in, but I really don't know much.

thanks nathan...I really hope I can raise my SAT I, what about the SAT IIs thats from my first sitting june 3rd

SAT II's look OK. You may want to retake them if they are subjects you enjoy; if not, look for some in subjects you enjoy and take them.

Try this: <a href="http://www.collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.collegeconfidential.com/academic_index3.htm</a></p>

SAT II's are OK. SAT I should try to get 700 or above on all.

Many EC's and achievements listed are 9th grade, or 9th and 10th. What happened in 11th?

Will Nov. SAT be in time for EA/ED? Check on the schools.

Are you in-state for any of the state schools listed? Most are very difficult for out-of-state students. You need a couple more match (your SAT's in the 50% range) and safety (your SAT's better than 75% of the applicants...and admits at least 40 - 50% of applicants) schools.
