Chances at Cornell,UIUC,Umich,Uwisconsin,Utexas,McGill,Umary-CP,Rutgers-NB?

This is a tough one. Clearly, English is not your first language. Your SAT V and W scores demonstrate that. On the other hand, your gpa is OK, as is your ap scores. And your SAT2 scores are very strong...Hmmm....

I think the V and W scores pretty much sink your chances at Cornell, UMich, UWisonsin, UTexas (Austin?) and McGill. But I think you'll be accepted at UMaryland and Rutgers.

Thanks amptron. And one more, I got 250 on toefl.

How about UIUC?

bump
bump..........

Oh, sorry. What's UIUC?

Oh I'm sorry..University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign

Thought so. From what I understand, UIUC is somewhat tougher to get into than UMaryland-CP or Rutgers NB. I say you have a 50-50 chance there.

Thanks again amptron

By the way, do you have any schools on your list that you consider real safety schools? If not, you should look at schools like Syracuse, U Delaware, and U Pittsburgh. All decent but a lot less selective.

Well..I thought Rutgers was pretty safe..I might have to apply Pittsburgh as well..

And one more thing..I'm the National Honor Roll student..is that really help?

If you lived in Texas you would have automatic admission since everyone living in Texas in the top 10 percent of their class gets admission to any Texas public school.

I live in Maryland

UIUC is tough for out of state, and I think they prefer the ACT. I remember that they only take about 10% out of state, so that's about 800 attending, so 1,500 accepted, but maybe the turnout rate is really low for out of state, so the acceptance rate is higher; I'm not sure.

If you're applying to physics, (not engineering) that means that you have a significant chance of getting in, seeing as the average ACT for the LAS college is 27.

"The average ACT of incoming freshmen is 27, with a class rank in the 90th percentile."

I'm not too sure about Rutgers. Depends on which schools you apply to.

And about UMd - I don't think so.

Thanks everyone

You can get in Wisconsin easily. You barely made it on the TOEFL, though. Ouch!

Well thanks.. My Toefl is really cool even to me..:p

IF your applying this year... deadline has passed for UIUC FYI.
