Personally, I would recommend you take the SAT. Sometimes people do better on one test than another, and really, it can’t hurt.

Your chances are this - you have a chance. Your ACT scores lineup on the higher end of the spectrum for Cornell, as does your classrank. This by no means says you have a GOOD chance, because frankly colleges of this level are difficult for most candidates to get accepted. However, if you write a solid essay and a quality application, your GPA and scores should not be of concern to you.

Thanks, I going to take the SAT this year and probably a couple subject tests. I understand its kind of hard to chance for Ivy League since they’re just so competitive.

You definitely are in the running for Cornell. Stellar GPA, very good ACT score you have the requisite selection of musical instruments. You also have the benefit of Cornell being a bigger school, which will work to your advantage obviously— they can accept more people! :P

It comes down to your recs/essays and dumb luck now, although you can be certain that you gave yourself the best chance possible and even if you don’t get into Cornell you’re almost guaranteed admission to a school of similar caliber
