Chances at Cornell?

Hi I'm currently halfway through my junior year of highschool. I have good grades, decent SAT scores, and decent extra-curriculars.

Plan on retaking SAT- I dont really know why reading was so low but I know i can around 690. I know I can get an 800 on the math. Writing is probably going to stay the same.

projecting high 700's for both

Any thoughts?

hmm…Cornell is a tough school, and your stats seem decent, for your SAT try to get a 700 or over for the verbal part, your math score is great, keep it that way, writing score is fine just aim for a 700 (they don’t really check on that), the classes you take are pretty good and your ecs are good, recs would help so make sure ur teachers love you, and yeah goodluck =]

You’re taking AB and BC at the same time?

Cornell will likely be a high match.

Yes my school uses semesters. I took AB last semester and BC this one.

Thanks for the replies

Well, Cornell looks at all scores so I don’t think your chances are great. However, good luck!

Any suggestions for similar schools that are a little easier to get into? For safeties

U Penn could be 1 of your safeties.

Cornell superscores. That’s what they said at an info session this past Monday.

That’s good news. If I wanted to apply to the college of engineering, how much harder is it to get in?

The college of engineering is very competitive at Cornell!
My sister got rejected last year from Regular Decision.
But nevertheless, I think you have a decent chance. Its hard, but apply
