Hey I'm a junior and I was just wondering what my chances were at Cornell... I'm planning on going on the pre-med route so either CAS or CALS... please be honest
School: my school doesn't allow APs in freshmen/sophomore year so I took all honors classes but I maintained like 3.90 gpa for both those years together
junior year I'm taking AP biology, US history, english, and statistics- a lot more than the average person and have like a 3.86 gpa
SAT: 1880, but I'm taking it again and on practice tests I've been scoring like a 2200
ECs: JV tennis 9th and 10th, V tennis 11th, NHS 11th, interned at Neuromed. Institue 11th, and am shadowing at our hospitals 11th
Awards: Edward Wakerlele Leadership Award 9th, University of Rochester's Frederick Douglass and Susan B Anthony Award 11th
So what are my chances? And tell me if there's anything I can do... thanks

Your GPA is in the right range, but I would really increase the SAT score, but it looks like you’re planning on doing that anyways. Other than that, make sure you aren’t trying to participate in clubs that aren’t remotely related just to impress colleges, but I can see you are really interested in the pre-med track. Continue with AP classes, lead some clubs, keep your GPA high, raise those SAT scores, and be an overall unique applicant. Cornell is a reach for everyone so consider some other colleges.
Good Luck '14
