I am a rising senior in hs and i was just wondering if cornell is possible.
my stats are:
2170 SAT
+ranked 9th in class of 300
+3 varsity sports: xc, track, track and captain of the xc team this fall
+vice president of community service aimed club
+in nhs
+involved in the art department at school and have had art displayed in shows
+participated in a geology course offered through stony brook
+other not so important acts of community service that i wont waste anyones time listing
+took highest level courses offered at hs

anyway, i am interested in becoming an engineer

It's possible. No guarantees, but possible.

Have you taken the SAT Subject Tests (math and science) required by the engineering school? If not, you need to sign up now to take them this fall.

Hopefully you have a strong "engineer" background/work load on ur resume and a high sat math score. "It's possible. No guarantees, but possible." Engineers are usually the people with the best scores but a higher admit rate because it's a self selected group of really smart people. GL!

I see a very interesting picture for you. art + geology + engineering = {you are stupid and unfocussed and obsessed with getting in, or you are a REALLY unique package exploring interesting aspects of engineering} you choose which one cornell will see. but that one better be the truth, or they'll reject you anyway.

SineWave, are you really located in Artarctica? I watched the "Eight Below" movie a couple of weeks ago; my understanding is nobody actually lives there.
