Chances at Cornell

<p>Hi, I need a little peace of mind. Let me know my chances for transfer acceptance for chemical engineering at Cornell....</p>

<p>Current School: Carnegie Mellon Univ. (freshman)
Major: Chemical Engineering
College GPA: 3.77/4.0 (1st semester)
MidYear: 2 A's, 2 B's = 3.5 GPA
HS GPA: 4.0/5.0 (w) 3.6/4.0 (un-w)
SAT: 1470 (760m/710v)
SATII: 790 (math iic) 770 (chemistry) 670 (writing)
AP: 5 (chem, bc calc, compsci A, psych)
Activities:
-Sponsorship Chair for Relay for Life (a fundraising event for American Cancer Society, this is a leadership position)
-Rifle/Pistol Club (club for shooting enthusiasts, I am a member)
Jobs:
-Peer Tutor (tutor once a week for classes I got A's in)
Volunteering:
-Lab Aide at U. Pitt. Med. Center (I work in the Pathology lab of the hospital)
Essays:
-Long Essay - I wrote this essay to reveal more about my personality. I think it's a fairly good essay. I asked and answered "Outside of numbers/academics, who are you as a person? Express yourself through your writing."
-Short Answers - These covered why I want to go to Cornell.
Recommendations:
-Prof. - This rec. will be very strong, my prof. let me read a part of it so I know it is good.
-Dean - I am a freshman, so the Dean does not know me well and thus will not be that great. </p>

<p>Other Info:
I applied regular decision and was waitlisted then denied. </p>

<p>That's the majority of it, opinoins are welcomed.</p>

<p>wow, another fellow cmu sophomore transfer. I have seen alot both on these forums and off. I think you have a good chance, but of course I want to say that because my stats are in many ways similiar. Good luck with it though</p>
