I'm a senior in Northern Virginia (some of the nations top public schools) and CU has been my absolute dream school for quite some time. I applied the day their application opened in August (early application) so I will hear back November 15th. (College of Arts & Sciences)

GPA- 3.40
SAT- 1790 (Math 590, CR & Writing 600)
ACT- both composite scores are 27, but my power score is a 28 (CU does a power score)

EC's:
-I was a summer Anesthesia Surgical volunteer/intern at a local hospital where I helped with surgical patient transport and observed surgeries
-2013 Two-Week Service trip to Costa Rica
-2012 Two-Week Service trip to British Virgin Islands
-Three years of work with Habitat for Humanity
-Honor Roll three years in a row

I had a neighbor (an English teacher) look over my essays the day I wrote them and edited them three times and I showed my english teacher and he said that they were outstanding. My history teacher who loved me in AP United States History wrote my recommendation.

Senior Schedule:
-AP Biology
-AP United States Government & Politics
-AP Calculus AB
-English 12
-Latin II
-Forensic Chemistry

So that's that. My application is complete and I got the message saying that they have received all my materials and will let me know of my admission status as soon as they can.

However I do have one question... I am STRONGLY considering dropping Forensics. I took the class because the teacher is known for being amazing, and it was an easy class to balance my three AP's. However, that teacher was promoted to Vice Principal and the new teacher SUCKS. She teaches it like I'm taking Organic Chemistry and takes it wayyy to serious for a HS elective. How bad would this look, considering I already am only taking 6 classes this year instead of 7? Would CU care? I do not want to drop the class if CU will look down upon this and change their mind about my admissions when I alert them. I kind of see myself as a lock for acceptance, and do not want to change that as I NEED to go to CU!
