Chances at Duke, Brown, USC...

I have never done one of these before but here it goes...
I am still a SOPHOMORE so everything is subject to change and I will have a lot more APs and honors before I apply for college. Hopefully, by my senior year, I will have a couple more promising leadership positions as well. Please don't be very harsh, I just want to see where I stand.
Schools: Duke, Brown, USC, UCLA, Stanford (know I don't have a chance), U Penn, UT Austin, BU, Columbia... I really love Duke though!

I think you’re doing quite well. If you’re looking for advice (honestly, I consider chances pointless at your stage), then I’d say: in the next year or so, really focus on showing more depth and interest in your extracurriculars. You mentioned that you’re really interested in architecture, writing, photography…so show this. For writing: submit to different publications (try Hanging Loose Press, the Claremont Review; the first includes adult and teen writers, the second is a very well-known and high-quality publication for teen writers exclusively). Some of those may take photography. If not, take initiative and see if you can get local restaurants or other venues to show some of your work as a mini-exhibit (I know someone who did this). Consider submitting to the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

As in writing, the advice “Show, don’t tell” holds. Your interests should be very clear from your resum

Thank you so much:)

I agree with Greekfire, don’t worry about all that now. So much stuff will happen here and then, so it’s impossible to give you any chances. But keep up the good work.

Thanks for the reply, but I would really appreciate some approximate guesses because I’m really worried that I’ll be rejected from these schools among many others unless I kind of know where I stand.

I’ll chance back:)

If you can keep your grades up and get a high SAT then you’ll have a good chance. Speaking fluent Farsi is a good hook.

Chance back please.

I’d love to have more thoughts…:)
