Chances at Duke, Colgate, Cornell, Berkeley?

I'm a high school student and I'm focusing on colleges a lot. Duke is, as of now, my top school, Colgate is second. Anyone have any ideas as far as chances at these schools? What would my chances applying regular decision and early decision at each school?

-Legacy at Duke; my Father went to Duke Law School
-Will run college track, both indoor and outdoor

-Final unweighted GPA upon ED application will be between 3.55-3.65, final weighted will be between 4.0-4.1
-10 Honors classes taken, 5 AP taken (all 4's and 5's on the tests)
-Senior class president
-Founder and President of Philosophy Club
-Founder and President of Pyschology/Sociology Club
-President of Politics Club
-Diversity Club member- went on school trip to Canada, and hosted a student from Canada for two weeks
-Debate Club member
-"Friends of the Orphans" Club member- went on week long mission trip to an orphanage in Mexico during spring break
-225 Hours Community Service completed upon graduation (of 125 required for graduation)
-Attended two summer academic programs, one at Arizona State freshman year, one at Duke Jr. year
-Varsity Track for school (two years JV, two years Varsity) -One year JV football
-Run club track during the summer and off season (Track Athlete Year Round)- went to USATF Junior Olympics Nationals for 110m hurdles
-Very, very good recommendations
-Graduated Summa Cum Laude from a prep school in Arizona
-School does not rank, but about 25 out of around 200 usually graduate Summa Cum Laude
-?Possibly going on a mission trip to Tanzania to help with cataract surgery for underprivileged children
-?Possibly going to study philosophy at Oxford for two weeks over the summer

Could all of this distract schools from my low GPA? I am not sure what my SAT scores will be, but I presume they will be somewhere between 2100-2300 total
How persuaded by legacy is Duke?

Thank you!

Are you a HS student or did you already graduate?

I’m a highschool student

Solid chance I would say. You’re in the top 10%, GPA could be higher. Assuming that SAT prediction is right, then that’s solid. Legacy definitely helps lol.

I’d say you’ll probably get in. Are you applying ED or RD?

I’m applying ED to Duke, chance me back?

You do not have legacy if your father attended Duke for Graduate School.

Your GPA is very weak, but if you can secure the 2100 - 2300, you will have a shot.

@billabongboy
I didn’t think so either, but Duke defines legacy as having a parent, grandparent, or sibling who has attended or is currently attending any of Duke’s schools

I think they mean any of Duke’s undergraduate schools. I may not be right, but I am pretty sure legacy status typically applies to undergraduate only.

^Yes, almost every school will ask if you have a relative that currently attends, but Legacy only applies to parents and/or grandparents who went for undergraduate studies.

Legacy will help. But they are not gonna take a 3.5 GPA just because of the legacy. To be honest, it will be unlikely.

i think you amazing ec’s deff boost your gpa, if u test well i think you have a good shot. and im pretty sure duke takes legacy into consideration it will help (im one too)

What about for Colgate? Cornell?
And I don’t suppose it would make any difference if it were closer to 3.6…?

You do have a shot at Colgate. Cornell would be low reach to reach.

Berkeley would be reach to super reach.

Berkeley is a GPA whore and your 3.5 won’t cut it.

What’s your intended major, btw?

yeah I don’t have high hopes for Berkeley
I plan on majoring philosophy or psychology (possibly premed)

If your GPA was somewhere around 3.9, it would be okay but since it’s so low…

And it depends on your SAP score for your other colleges. Idk much about colgate but Cornell is known fr the easiest ivy to get into.
2200will probably do if u had a decent GPA.
However, wirth your GPA, 2300 would be alright
