Oh, and I may be getting a recommendation from a beloved professor there.

So, what do y'all think?

If your weighted gpa is on a 4.0 scale, then what exactly is your unweighted gpa on?

Are you sure the weighted is on a 4.0 scale? The UW gpa is kind of low for Duke and the ACT score is alright. Having a 33+ could greatly. The ECs are great though. However, Duke seems like a reach because of the GPA. Good luck!

Our school actually doesn’t do a true 4.0 scale… the grades are provided on a percentage system. The weighting comes into play like this: for all honors and AP courses, the school adds an additional 7 points onto your percentage in that class. But if you take her overall percentage (as calculated by the school) and convert it to a 4.0 scale, my daughter has a 4.0.

We’re thinking this is probably a reach. If you look at Duke’s class of 2017, her ACT score is definitely in there. http://admissions.duke.edu/images/uploads/process/DukeClass2017Profile.pdf We figure she can apply Early Decision (when they accept 30% of applicants) and see what happens.

Bump! Would love some more opinions from all of you…
