School: few miles north of Detroit, sends about one kid to Umich, only ~25% go to college</p>

<p>I've worked in a medical office for more than a year drawing blood -wrote about it in my common app short essay</p>

I've volunteered at a local hospital, but not that many hours only about 30</p>

<p>Well op just said he comes from a bad school, and his weighted gpa is below a 4.0. He not even in his class’s top 5%. But the ACT score is very nice.</p>

<p>if you’re from a really disadvantaged background and show that to the colleges, you stand a good chance</p>

<p>no im not disadvantaged, just didnt think school was too much of a priority until last year</p>

<p>and maybe i exaggerated, my hs isnt thatt bad its prolly average..</p>
