<p>Hi i am applying Early Decision
Asian Male
Competitive Public School in NJ</p>

<p>GPA: Weighted: 4.886 Unweighted: 3.919
Rank: 20/392, top 5%
ACT: 31, retaking last time, hoping to get 32+</p>

<p>SAT II: Bio: 750, World: 720, Chem: 690, Math :610, retook and waiting for scores, should be better. (Probably not reporting my SAT's b/c they are not that nice)</p>

<p>Classes: 9 AP's by end of Senior year, most rigorous course load available, 2 5's and 2 4's so far</p>

<p>EC: Weakest part of my app, random clubs, Piano for 12 years, Volunteer at the hospital</p>

<p>I'm an not expert but I would say that its probably a reach. Your GPA is great and course load is excellent. Being a NJ resident, having lacking ECs, and fairly low ACT scores for Duke (assuming it stays a 31) could be a problem. Also, I would assume being Asian isn't the greatest thing for Duke because they have such a high Asian population. I'm applying ED to Duke as well. Good luck, though! Definitely worth a try, especially if you get your desired ACT score.</p>
