Chances at east coast LACs?

<p>Right now I'm looking at:</p>

<p>Vassar
Lafayette
Bucknell
Dickinson
Wheaton
Middlebury
Tufts
Amherst
Brown (just for kicks)</p>

<p>GPA: ~4.3 W ~3.8 UW
Last known rank was at the end of Sophomore year = 4/~800 (am most likely still top 10)</p>

<p>3 APs junior year and I plan on taking 6 next year as a senior</p>

<p>SAT: 2120 740M 710CR 670W (12 essay)</p>

<p>SATIIs:
USH 800
Bio 710
Math2 750</p>

<p>ECs:
Marching Band (9,10,11,12) - band is consistently top 3 in NY and most likely is top 50 in country (placed 23rd in the nation in 2004)
Jazz Band (10,11,12) - Was in the "second" jazz band in 10,11, but next year will be in the upper level band which won the Berkley Jazz festival this year, so hopefully there will be a repeat.
Class organizing committee (9,10,11,12) - planned activities to help bring the class together (ex. trips, picnics, ultimate Frisbee tournament)
Math Team (10,11,12) - Went to states this year as part of the league team
Newspaper (11,12) - wrote in 11 and will be an editor next year
Link Crew (11) - helped a group of assigned freshmen assimilate into the high school</p>

<p>Employment: counselor at a summer camp (9,10,11,12) - camp is on a working farm so besides the ordinary camp stuff (arts and crafts, games etc.) try to teach the kids about agriculture and the environment</p>

<p>I'm looking to major in International relations/Economics so any other school suggestions are welcome.</p>

<p>Perhaps Brandeis? I have a friend majoring in Economics there, she switched from International Relations. </p>

Brown-reach (pretty much is for anyone!)
The rest seem like good matches or ins. </p>

<p>I looked at Brandeis and unfortunately didn’t like it, thanks for the suggestion though.</p>

<p>Good chance everywhere. Your scores are average or above average for accepted applicants at all the schools you’re applying to, except for writing score and maybe your CR score for Brown. </p>

<p>At Brown, based on your scores, you have a 12.7% chance for your math score, 13.5% for your CR score, and 8.7% for your writing score. </p>

<p>Overall a 11.63% chance at Brown. Good luck :)</p>

<p>Why are you even applying to Brown if it’s “just for kicks?” If you get accepted you will be taking someone else’s spot who genuinely wanted to go.</p>

<p>I don’t think I’m going to apply. I’m only chancing it for kicks. However, if I do apply and get in, I will consider going there, I won’t simply throw it out.</p>
