Your biggest hook is applying from Iowa. Write some compelling essays and you have a decent shot. It would also be helpful if you become a captain or president of some of your ECs senior year.

penn finan aid is effing crap. freshman year i got a 10 k grant, my soph more im getting barely a third of that.

...then again my parents are asian money hoarders

...but then again, im sure penn could afford to give more to middle class families from 4billion dollar coffers, not that theyre gonna catch up with the big three any time soon.

Your finaid doesn't change regardless of when you apply. If you know you want to go to penn, apply ED. Don't worry about the money. There always are these myths that go around saying that since you got in ED and have to go there, you get less money. As any sane person would realize, it's bs. No reputable university would to that as it would be a public relations nightmare if they were caught and would cost them a lot more than they were saving. Penn's finaid dept is entirely independent of admissions and penn is need blind. In other words, they try to stress as much as possible that money should not be a reason not to apply.

thank you everyone for all of the comments.

username- u were right. i contacted penn and they said that they give out the same fin aid for ED and RDers. I think i will probably apply ED because i do really want to go to penn.

again, thanks for the comments everyone! :-)
